Carniceria Menus.

In time for tonights relaunch of Holmfirth Restaurant Carniceria. I have created some new menus.

I started with a thick recycled card backboard which as been lovingly screen printed by hand at a local print workshop. Attached to this using some great little circular paper clips I created a menu template which can be printed in house so to allow for seasonal changes to the food available. This is also printed on a recyled ivory heavyweight paper.

I then created some invites in the same style to publisise tonights event. Again this is printed on a flecked recyled uncoated card.

Haçienda Style Wedding Invite

I recently had the pleasure of designing an invite for a friends wedding. With it being a more informal reception and the couple having a love of clubbing in the Haçienda heydays they wanted the invite to be styled in a similar way to Peter Saville’s infamous posters.

I finally have a bit of spare time on my hands and so felt it a good time to take some photos of the Belgium Beer Guide I created for The Toad and Tatie in Holmfirth. It was quite hard to shoot because I had to painstakingly tack down all the pages and then stick the book to the table to stop it popping shut!

This hard backed book features all the wonderful Trappist, Abbey and other fine beers that the guys stock. Also some photos that I took of the pub and restaurant and some extra little details including a silouette of all the unique glasses that each beer is typically served in.

There are a couple of copies on the bar at the pub for your enjoyment and to help you choose which of these fine tipples you would like to try next!

So, it seems that the craft beer revolution is still going hopping mad! Which is great news for Friends of Ham and also good news for me as it keeps me busy creating fantastic new branding solutions. Added to the portfolio in recent weeks has been among other things: A 20 page printed menu, various beer mats, flyers, posters and a comments cards. Some of which you can see above….

TasteCard Directory.
KnownAim recently completed the task of creating TasteCard’s new Vol9 Directory. A 180 page brochure which was revamped to fit more inline with the branding of their new website and also with a new cover style. An all black matt laminate cover with clear spot UV text over the top was chosen to give an elegant and subtle finish.

So a couple of weeks ago saw the opening of one of Leeds’ finest new bars- “Friends of Ham’.

I had the pleasure of designing the branding for them and I’m proud to admit its one of my best projects to date. It was also great fun, perhaps because this is a place that really hits home with a great selection of beers, awesome food and fantastically designed decor!  I’d actually concider moving to Leeds just so I could visit this place more often!

KnownAim created the branding starting with a commissioned black and white drawing  by Irish illustrator Neil Gillespie ( http://neilgillespie.tumblr.com ) of the pig showing the various cuts of meat that are available. I then went on to build this into a complete look for the business with various fonts and a colour pallete.

Sinage and various printed items where then discussed and visualised. We also looked at copy writing that could continue the pig theme, including among others the phrase “Trot on! ” which is used on takeaway items!

Ben Jones - Coming Home - Music Video.

Ive recently been working on my first ever music video, well actually its my first video of any kind!

Filmed on Location in Manchester and Huddersfield. With a simple concept to it, the video shows as the title suggests, one mans journey from the city, back home to the countryside.

The video was purposly filmed with a rugged hand held feel to it and made black and white which we both felt suited the style of the song.

Hope you enjoy it!

This week see’s the release of Cornwall based singer songwriter Harry Rowland’s debut album, Southward Bound.
